Purpose of the Job
The role requires an experienced Senior Electrical Designer – Power Transformer to join our team at our Ahmedabad office. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in electrical design for power transformers, preferably in the 220 kV, 400 kV, and higher voltage classes.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop electrical designs for power transformers, preferably in the 220 kV and above voltage range.
- Perform transformer design calculations, including voltage, current, winding design, impedance, losses, and short-circuit calculations.
- Work on insulation coordination, dielectric design, and other electrical design parameters.
- Prepare and review electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC, IEEE, IS standards, and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with mechanical design, manufacturing, quality, and testing teams for smooth execution of projects.
- Support routine and type testing activities and resolve design-related technical issues.
- Analyze customer specifications and incorporate technical requirements into transformer designs.
- Optimize designs for performance, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Ensure timely completion of design activities as per project schedules.
