Purpose of the Job
We are looking for an experienced PLC & Automation Engineer to manage and support automation systems across both manufacturing units. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in PLC, SCADA, industrial automation, troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate should have experience working in Aluminium, Engineering Manufacturing, Auto Ancillary, or other heavy manufacturing industries.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain PLC, SCADA, and industrial automation systems across both units.
- Handle PLC programming, troubleshooting, modification, and system improvements.
- Monitor and maintain SCADA systems for smooth and efficient plant operations.
- Troubleshoot automation-related breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime.
- Work on automation systems connected with production machinery and manufacturing processes.
- Support installation, commissioning, testing, and integration of new automation systems and equipment.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Production, and Maintenance teams for smooth plant operations.
- Perform root cause analysis of recurring automation and control system failures.
- Develop and implement improvements to enhance productivity, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Manage preventive and breakdown maintenance of automation and control systems.
- Maintain technical documentation, PLC programs, electrical drawings, and automation records.
- Support plant modernization and automation improvement projects.
- Ensure proper backup and management of PLC and SCADA programs.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for automation-related projects and technical support.
- Required Technical Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience in PLC Programming and Troubleshooting.
- Experience in SCADA systems and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of HMI, VFDs, sensors, transmitters, control panels, and instrumentation interfaces.
- Experience with automation systems used in continuous manufacturing and production environments.
- Exposure to PLC platforms such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider, or similar systems will be preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and networking will be an added advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Candidate Profile
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
- Experience: 10–12 years of relevant experience in PLC, SCADA, and Industrial Automation.
- Candidates should preferably come from Aluminium, Engineering Manufacturing, Auto Ancillary, Metal Manufacturing, or Heavy Manufacturing industries.
- Strong hands-on experience in automation maintenance and manufacturing plant operations.
