Purpose of the Job
To oversee overall plant operations and maintenance activities, working closely with the Plant Head to ensure smooth production, equipment reliability, operational efficiency, cost control and continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations and production activities
- Work parallel with the Plant Head for overall plant performance
- Monitor production planning, capacity utilization and production targets
- Ensure optimum yield, productivity and raw material utilization
- Oversee preventive & breakdown maintenance activities
- Monitor plant utilities, equipment efficiency and energy consumption
- Drive process improvements, automation and equipment upgradation
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Stores & Procurement
- Ensure smooth inward, storage, dispatch and logistics operations
- Monitor operational cost and support OPEX/CAPEX control
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety and certification requirements
- Identify operational issues and drive corrective actions
- Monitor plant KPIs, downtime, yield and overall operational efficiency
