Purpose of the Job
The role requires a skilled Firmware Engineer with experience in the electrical metering industry to develop, maintain, and optimize embedded firmware for electrical measurement devices, transformer monitoring systems, and related electronic products.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for electrical meters, transformer monitoring devices, and associated electronic systems.
- Develop firmware using Embedded C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
- Work with microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex-M, STM32, PIC, AVR, or equivalent platforms.
- Integrate communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, RS-485, Modbus, and, where applicable, DLMS/COSEM for smart metering.
- Develop firmware for measurement, data acquisition, monitoring, and control applications.
- Work on transformer monitoring parameters such as temperature, voltage, current, load, and other electrical or condition-monitoring data, depending on the product.
- Interface with sensors, ADCs, memory devices, communication modules, and other hardware components.
- Support hardware integration, prototype development, product validation, and field issue resolution.
- Maintain firmware documentation, version control, test reports, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with hardware, testing, quality, and product engineering teams to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Follow relevant product standards and communication specifications applicable to metering monitoring equipment.
