Purpose of the Job
We are looking for an experienced Manager – Electrical Engineering to manage electrical maintenance, reliability, and engineering activities for the Metal Manufacturing Business. The candidate should have strong expertise in handling electrical systems and equipment used in heavy manufacturing and metal processing plants.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- Manage overall electrical maintenance and engineering activities of the metal manufacturing plant.
- Ensure maximum availability, reliability, and efficient performance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Handle troubleshooting and root cause analysis of critical electrical failures to minimize plant downtime.
- Maintain and manage HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, MCC panels, PCC panels, motors, drives, and electrical distribution systems.
- Handle electrical equipment associated with metal processing, production lines, heavy machinery, and plant operations.
- Support installation, commissioning, modification, and upgradation of electrical equipment and systems.
- Work on improving equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and energy consumption.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Mechanical, Utility, and Operations teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
- Monitor electrical safety practices and ensure compliance with statutory and safety requirements.
- Manage electrical maintenance planning, shutdown activities, spare parts, and critical inventory.
- Lead and develop the electrical maintenance and engineering team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, maintenance costs, and energy consumption.
- Required Technical Expertise
- Strong experience in Electrical Maintenance and Engineering in Metal/Heavy Manufacturing plants.
- Knowledge of HT/LT systems, transformers, switchgear, motors, VFDs, soft starters, MCC/PCC panels, and electrical distribution systems.
- Experience in handling electrical systems for heavy machinery and continuous manufacturing operations.
- Exposure to PLC/Automation systems will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and statutory compliance.
- Experience in improving equipment reliability and reducing breakdowns and downtime.
