Purpose of the Job
The Chief Strategy & Impact Officer (CSIO) is responsible for driving the strategic direction, programme excellence, impact measurement, knowledge management, and thought leadership of Company. The role provides strategic oversight to all CSR thematic portfolios, Branding & Communications, and MIS & Impact functions, ensuring that the Foundation's interventions are innovative, scalable, measurable, and aligned with the vision of the Company and national development priorities. The CSIO will lead the conceptualization and design of thematic programmes, strengthen evidence-based decision making, establish robust impact assessment systems, and position the Foundation as a leading CSR and social development institution.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- 1. Strategic Leadership
- • Develop and periodically review the Foundation's long-term strategy and growth roadmap.
- • Provide strategic guidance to thematic programme heads across Education, Health, Sustainable Livelihoods, Climate Action, Women Empowerment, and other focus areas.
- • Identify emerging social development trends, policy priorities, and innovation opportunities.
- • Ensure strategic alignment of all programmes with the Foundation's vision, mission, and CSR objectives.
- • Support leadership in organizational transformation and future readiness initiatives.
- 2. Programme Design & Thematic Excellence
- • Lead programme conceptualization and design at the Head Office.
- • Develop scalable programme models, frameworks, and implementation standards.
- • Drive innovation and cross-learning across thematic domains.
- • Ensure adoption of evidence-based approaches and best practices in programme design.
- • Review programme effectiveness and recommend strategic improvements.
- 3. Impact Measurement & Evaluation
- • Establish and oversee the Foundation's Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Impact (MELI) framework.
- • Define impact indicators, measurement methodologies, and reporting standards.
- • Lead impact assessments, baseline studies, midline reviews, and endline evaluations.
- • Ensure data-driven decision-making across all programme portfolios.
- • Create organization-wide dashboards for monitoring programme outcomes and impact.
- 4. MIS, Data Analytics & Knowledge Management
- • Lead development of integrated MIS systems for programme management and reporting.
- • Institutionalize data governance, data quality, and reporting standards.
- • Drive use of analytics to enhance programme effectiveness and resource optimization.
- • Establish knowledge repositories, learning systems, and communities of practice.
- • Promote documentation and dissemination of best practices and success stories.
- 5. Stakeholder Engagement
- • Build strategic partnerships with government agencies, academic institutions, development organizations, multilateral agencies, and sector experts.
- • Engage with CSR leaders, think tanks, and social sector networks.
- • Support collaboration across Adani businesses and Foundation teams.
- • Provide strategic inputs to Board and leadership reviews.
- 6. Organizational Development
- • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, learning, and impact.
- • Mentor and develop senior leadership within thematic and support functions.
- • Drive performance excellence through strategic reviews and capability-building initiatives.
- • Lead strategic planning workshops and organizational learning exercises.

- Education
- • Master's Degree in Social Development, Public Policy, Development Studies, Rural Management, Management, Economics, Social Work, or related discipline.
- • Doctoral qualification or specialized certifications in impact evaluation, strategy, or public policy would be advantageous.
- Experience
- • 18-25 years of professional experience.
- • At least 10 years in leadership roles within CSR, social development, foundations, NGOs, consulting, or public policy organizations.
- • Proven experience in strategy formulation, programme design, impact assessment, and large-scale social development initiatives.
- • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple geographies.
